Main objectives:
- Support to developing internal capacity and knowledge in the area of climate change negotiations, particularly in the context of the 23rd Conference of the Parties (COP23) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in the IOC and its Member States and Zanzibar (Tanzania)
- Technical assistance to IOC member countries in the participation to COP23 and shaping of the climate regime based on the Paris Agreement
Main results:
During COP23 Climalia provided directed support to IOC member countries. That support included:
- Pre-session information and background material
- Regular communication pre, during and post COP23
- Ad-hoc support at the venue in negotiations rooms, plenary sessions, regional groups coordination meetings, etc.
- Face-to-face meetings during COP23
- Daily updates from COP23 negotiations
- Post-COP23 analysis report
Final outcomes:
- Synthetic strategical and position document for IOC in the perspective of COP23;
- Daily technical assistance at COP23;
- Post COP23 analysis
