First pocket guide to adaptation negotiations under the UNFCCC published
Climate Negotiators! The Adaptation Pocket Guide is out!
A collaboration between ecbi and Climalia, the “Pocket Guide to Adaptation under the UNFCCC” is part of a series of thematic guides that proved very popular among junior and senior negotiators, especially from developing countries.
It provides a brief history of the international community’s response to climate change adaptation under the UNFCCC since 1992, until the 2015 Paris Agreement and the adoption of adaptation provisions in the so-called “Rulebook” in Katowice in 2018.
Although adaptation has gained momentum, many technical and political issues remain unresolved in streamlining the global response and providing vulnerable countries and communities the support they need to deal with one of the biggest challenges facing humankind today.
